- Machine Operation: Safely operate and monitor dry end equipment, including the cylinder dryers, calendar stacks, reelers, unwinders, slitters, and automated packaging systems.
- Field Inspections: Perform routine hourly walks around the dry end area to check for equipment abnormalities, oil leaks, unusual vibrations, or safety hazards.
- Quality Control: Visually inspect the moving web/product for defects (e.g., holes, tears, wrinkles, or spots) and take immediate corrective action or report issues to the Control Room.
- Turnup & Reel Changes: Execute successful reel turnups and safely transfer completed jumbo rolls from the reel to the slitter/winder.
- Routine Maintenance & Cleaning: Clean the dry end area, remove scrap material/broke, and assist maintenance teams during planned shutdowns or sheet breaks.
- Testing & Sampling: Cut and prepare product samples for laboratory testing to ensure thickness, moisture, and strength meet customer specifications.
