Senior Project Paper Production

Job Purpose

Senior Expert – Paper Production provides advanced technical leadership to optimise paper machine performance, product quality, and cost efficiency. This role serves as a subject-matter expert, supporting operational excellence, resolving complex production issues, and driving continuous improvement across the mill.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for paper machine operations (forming, pressing, drying, finishing).
• Analyse production and quality data to identify root causes of inefficiencies, defects, and downtime.
• Drive improvements in productivity, yield, energy use, and raw material efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and ISO/FSC/PEFC requirements.
• Support product development, grade changes, and resolution of customer complaints.
• Lead or support technical projects, machine upgrades, and process optimisation initiatives.
• Mentor engineers, supervisors, and operators; develop SOPs and best-practice guidelines.
• Promote HSE compliance, operational discipline, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 12–15 years experience in paper manufacturing with strong exposure to paper machine operations.
• Proven experience in process optimisation, quality improvement, and technical project leadership.
