Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Recovery Boiler within the BCTMP operation by providing technical expertise, optimizing performance, troubleshooting operational issues, and supporting maintenance and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise for Recovery Boiler operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
* Monitor boiler operating parameters, combustion efficiency, steam generation, emissions, and equipment condition.
* Identify root causes of operational problems, equipment failures, and performance deviations and recommend corrective actions.
* Develop and implement improvement programs to increase boiler reliability, efficiency, availability, and safety.
* Support shutdown, inspection, overhaul, commissioning, and start-up activities related to the Recovery Boiler.
* Ensure boiler operation complies with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
* Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and other BCTMP teams to resolve technical issues.
* Review operating procedures, maintenance strategies, and technical specifications and recommend improvements.
* Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel.
* Support evaluation of equipment modifications, upgrades, and reliability improvement projects.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong experience in Recovery Boiler operation, maintenance, or engineering, preferably within the pulp and paper industry.
* Solid knowledge of combustion systems, steam systems, pressure equipment, boiler auxiliaries, and process safety.
* Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
* Experience with boiler shutdowns, inspections, commissioning, and performance improvement is preferred.
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
