Key Responsibilities

* Lead mechanical maintenance activities during commissioning, start-up, and early production stabilization.
* Provide expert troubleshooting for complex mechanical problems affecting production performance.
* Ensure all mechanical equipment is commissioned, tested, and handed over in accordance with project specifications and operational standards.
* Identify potential reliability risks before equipment failures occur and implement preventive solutions.
* Optimize maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and production efficiency.
* Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on critical equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
* Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all critical mechanical assets.
* Work closely with commissioning engineers, OEM specialists, contractors, and operations teams to ensure smooth plant start-up.
* Review equipment installation quality, alignment, lubrication, tolerances, and commissioning readiness.
* Mentor and coach local maintenance engineers and technicians, transferring technical knowledge and best maintenance practices.
* Support shutdown planning, commissioning punch-list closure, and final equipment acceptance.
* Recommend maintenance improvements that reduce maintenance costs while improving equipment reliability.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, LOTO procedures, and company engineering standards.

 

 

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum 10–15 years of mechanical maintenance experience in pulp & paper, tissue, packaging paper, or other large continuous-process manufacturing industries.
* Proven experience supporting greenfield projects, new plant commissioning, or major production line start-ups.
* Strong expertise in paper machine equipment, rotating machinery, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and utility equipment.
* Demonstrated success in improving equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime.
* Experience working with international OEM suppliers and commissioning teams is highly preferred.
* Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional communication skills.
* Fluent English is preferred for coordination with international suppliers and technical teams.
