SENIOR EXPERT, CHEMICAL

Job Responsibilities:

• Plans requirements of all chemicals (TCCA, Caustic Soda, H2O2, HCL, CI2, & CA) and consumables along with various Section Head for all sections in the department and ensures its availability
• Plans production in consultation with Marketing Dept., keeping in view the availability of material and marketing requirements
• Prepares yearly budget and usage’s norm for the business unit, in consultation with superiors
• Studies Quality Control reports including Laboratory reports on chemical quality and ensures correction if required on day to day basis
• Studies various alternatives including modifications to increase productivity, reducing cost of production and improving quality of chemicals
• Ensures that Production of chemical is as per specification, also ensures that quality of final product is as per requirement.
• Ensures that depending on the quality of chemical being run, the production rate is achieved so that production per shift and per day is normal.
• In case of problem on chemical like consistency, etc as per process / product parameter helps Section Head in identifying the problem and taking corrective actions.
• In case of any major break down, plans suitable repair along with maintenance personnel and Section Head to ensure normal production at shortest possible time.
• Ensures minimization of spillage of hazardous chemical/product, corrosion, etc.
• Ensures safe and proper implementation of chemical handling, process operation, product storage and distribution.
• Ensures finishing and packing of all chemical on day to day basis keeping in view delivery requirements / as per production plan.
• Ensures preparation of all quality / environment related documents like final product Specification, Quality Plan, Work Instruction, etc. and approves them as required.
• Ensures that suitable corrective actions are taken in case Abnormality Reports / Corrective and Preventive Action Request is raised.
• Ensures analysis of customer complaints and takes suitable corrective action.
• Ensures that 2nd quality chemical produced is kept to a minimum and those customer complaints are minimized.
• Ensures proper disposal of all waste generated and house keeping in job area
• Ensures that safety procedures are followed in dealing with chemicals and other raw material as per MSDS
• Cares about Environmental Management Program (EMP).
• Monitors & follows up the quality objective as per KPI set by Mill Head & ensures that there is continual improvement
• Ensures the effective implementation of QMS & EMS
• Ensures proper housekeeping in his/her working area
• Ensures that safety should be the priority in all working area
• Ensures the implementation of Corrective & Preventive Action are taken
• Discusses the proposed recommendation with Preventive and Corrective Action team leader for implementation
• Reviews the proposed recommendation and discusses with concerned manager

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 15 years of management experience in a chemical manufacturing plant
• Technical expertise: Knowledge of chemicals batch technology (TCCA, Caustic Soda, H2O2, HCL, CI2, & CA), manufacturing regulations, and industry standard equipment
• Placement in Pindo Deli mill, Karawang, West Java
