Job Summary
The Expert – Instrument Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and optimal performance of all instrumentation and control systems within the pulp production area. The role provides technical expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and improving process instrumentation to support safe and efficient mill operations.

 

Key Responsibilities
    •    Provide technical expertise in maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of field instruments, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, and distributed control systems (DCS) used in pulp processing.
    •    Ensure reliability and availability of instrumentation systems supporting pulp production operations.
    •    Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for instrumentation equipment.
    •    Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for instrumentation failures affecting production reliability.
    •    Support process optimization by ensuring accurate measurement and control systems.
    •    Review and improve maintenance procedures, technical standards, and documentation related to instrumentation systems.
    •    Collaborate with operations, engineering, and electrical maintenance teams to ensure seamless plant performance.
    •    Provide technical guidance and mentoring to instrument technicians and maintenance personnel.
    •    Participate in shutdown planning, equipment inspections, and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
    •    Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental, and company operational standards.

 

Qualifications
    •    Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related field.
    •    Minimum 10–15 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance in pulp & paper, petrochemical, power plant, or heavy industrial environments.
    •    Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, process analyzers, and calibration techniques.
    •    Experience in troubleshooting complex process control and instrumentation issues.
    •    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
