Expert, Electrical Maintenance

Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of electrical equipment across the Pulp production area through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous reliability improvement.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain and improve the reliability of electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, protection systems, and power distribution systems.
* Develop and optimise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes.
* Troubleshoot complex electrical failures and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues.
* Analyse equipment performance, failure trends, and downtime to identify reliability improvements.
* Provide technical recommendations for equipment repair, replacement, modification, and upgrading.
* Support shutdowns, major maintenance, commissioning, and start-up activities.
* Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, maintenance procedures, and critical spare-part requirements.
* Ensure compliance with electrical safety, LOTO, HSE, and company standards.
* Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Reliability, Mechanical, and Instrumentation teams.
* Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* Solid experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in pulp & paper or continuous-process industries.
* Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
* Experienced in troubleshooting, RCA, preventive/predictive maintenance, and reliability improvement.
* Familiarity with CMMS/SAP and industrial electrical safety practices is preferred.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
