Expert Project Electrical

Job Purpose

Provide technical expertise and oversee all electrical engineering activities during the project execution phase to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical leadership for electrical engineering activities throughout project execution.
* Review and validate electrical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
* Supervise electrical installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
* Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
* Resolve technical issues related to power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS, and electrical protection systems.
* Participate in FAT, SAT, system inspections, punch list clearance, and project handover activities.
* Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local regulations, and company engineering practices.
* Support project risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for electrical-related activities.
* Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and engineering recommendations.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within large industrial or EPC projects, preferably in pulp & paper, power, petrochemical, or heavy manufacturing industries.
* Strong knowledge of HV/LV power distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, motors, and industrial electrical equipment.
* Experience in construction, commissioning, and start-up of large industrial facilities.
* Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant electrical codes.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced project environment.
